THE POWER OF ONE MAN OR WOMAN FOR GOD
November 26, 2013
The Word of God clearly outlines the power of God being used in a mighty way, through one man or woman taking God's word, will, and ways, "in obedience and faith" standing firm on His Promises. If you do not study, know, learn, the word of God for yourself, you will never know the power of God. When we trust in the power of God and His Holy Spirit we have power from on high.
"Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace in time of need." Hebrews 4:16 Moses interceded on behalf of the Israelites through the wilderness, when they rebelled. God determined to destroy them all, but Moses begged the Lord to hold his hand, even stating to blot his own name out of His book if He would not forgive the people (Exodus 32; Numbers 14). God listened to Moses pleas.
The power of God's Holy Spirit can bind the strong man (Matthew 12:29). The power of one united with God is beyond measure. "And he [Jesus] said. The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. Luke 18:27
Do you not believe God's word? I do. Esther and Deborah did. Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Abraham, Moses, David, Daniel, Joseph, Jacob, Paul, (the list is long and wide), did. So can you. Put your mind aside, and seek the mind, will, word, Holy Spirit of God to help you.
"Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, is so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you....but if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you." Romans 8:7-11
God says, "When the Holy Spirit is come, He will take what is mine and show it unto you." John 16:15 "If you love me, keep my commandments." John 14:15 Are you filled with God's Holy Spirit? Do you keep His commandments, obeying His word?
It is only by living close to God, blameless, sinless, in obedience to His Holy Word, that we can become the power of one within God's hands, as He uses us for His glory. We cannot serve God completely if we have sin in our hearts and in our camps (home, churches, ministry). We must repent of our sins and strive to live according to God's will, not our own.
As servants of God we are to be the "salt of the earth" (Matthew 5:13). "...but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thence forth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.."
We cannot tolerate sin in our lives if we are to be Holy used by God, united in His cause. "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." Matthew 5:48. This is the sanctification process that we should hold dear, and close to our hearts in order to ignite the power of the Holy Spirit and the fire of God within our lives.
"...let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear; For our God is a consuming fire." Hebrews 12:28-29 As we ask Jesus to baptize us with His fire, we also must be willing with desire for Him to burn away all that is not pleasing to Him. This is an ongoing process, but a process God honors.
Charles G. Finney has stated, "When they are truly willing to give up all sin, when they have no will of their own, but merge their own will entirely in the will of God, then their bonds are broken. When they yield absolutely to God's will, then they are filled with the fullness of God." (Principles of Holiness, Charles G. Finney, Bethany House Publishers, pp. 22-23).
God's word confirms it this way: "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it? I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings." - Jeremiah 17:9-10 We must keep our heart pure and holy.
Then we can proclaim as in Psalm 144:1, "blessed be the Lord my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight." God provides us power, love and a sound mind - II Timothy 1:7. We are to put on the armor of God (Eph. 6), stand firm, and help fight the battle of faith in agreement with God. Then stand back and watch God work and Praise Him for His Holy Providence!
Because He turned His ear to me, I will call on Him as long as I live - Psalm 116:1-2
They cried to the Lord in their trouble, and He saved them from their distress. - Psalm 107:19
When they cry to the Lord because of their oppressors, he will send them a savior and defender, and He will rescue them - Isaiah 19:20.
Michael Youssef, Ph D, is author of , "Discover the Power of ONE, Make your life count." Using as his model the Old Testament prophet Daniel, who was a captive in a foreign land under the rule of pagan emperors.
Daniel accessed God's power and took uncompromising stands when opportunities occurred, thereby witnessing the downfall of evil kings. He caused a whole nation to worship his God, and experienced miraculous escape from a death sentence. Yousself was right on target when he set the key standard stating, "We affect others in God's strength, not our own. The power of one Christian is never limited to that person's abilities, intelligence, skills, or personality. A Christian is a person who is vitally link to an unlimited God."
While staying repentant to my sins, God has done the same for me as I have given my life in service to His will.
I pray by the power of God's might, you become a vessel of Godly fear, and Holy faith, whereby God can be released within your life, through thick and thin, trial, and/or tribulation. So that you will know that you know, the power of one can become your hearts cry too, as God stands with you, by you, goes before you, to proclaim your Victory, In Jesus Name.
