GOD'S LOVE AND COMFORT
Trials and tribulations are often a part of life. Loss is a burden to bear, but God is faithful to comfort His children in time of need. God comforts us not so much as to make us more comfortable, but to make us comforters. For who can relate to the loss of a loved one, but one who has lost? Who can know the hunger of pain, but one who has suffered hunger?
When we receive the comfort and security of God's love, mercy, grace, we can better know how to comfort those in need. Adelaide Ann Procter confirms, "Do not cheat thy heart and tell her, "Grief will pass away, hope for fairer times in the future, and forget today." Tell her, if you will, that sorrow need not come in vain; tell her that the lesson taught her far outweights the pain.
We often wonder why things happen as they do. "Are you dismayed, lonely, afraid, thinking yourself forsaken? God is your stay, trust Him and pray; New hope He will awaken!" - Selma Lagerstorm. For "All I have seen teaches me to trust the Creator for all I have not seen" - Ralph Waldo Emerson. The good man does not escape all troubles in life as he has them too. But the Lord helps him in each and every one (Psalm 34:19). We know as Christians, that we can trust in God's unfailing love; as our heart rejoices in our salvation. We can sing to the Lord, for he has been good. - Psalm 13:5-6 For those of us who have saved loved one's who haved passed, this is a great comfort.
God's word confirms in John 14:1-2, that we let not our heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In my Father's house (heaven) are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. Praise God we will see our loved one's again! We can feel God's presense in the midst of our anxieties and the storms of life. For out of the darkness of the earth ground comes the flower blossom, out of the night of sorrow the morning appears. All because of God's comfort and love.
