ANGELS SENT BY GOD
Angels are often sent by God to protect His children. Billy Graham in his book, "Angels" God's Secret Agents, tells on page 3, the story of a poor woman who lived in China, who was cutting grass with two children in tow. To her back was tied a baby, and a little child walked beside her. She carried a sharp sickle to cut the grass. As she readed the top of a hill she heard and saw a mother tigress followed by two cubs. Thie mother had never attended school or entered a church. She had never seen a Bible.
A year or two earlier a missionary had told her about Jesus, "who is able to help you when you are in trouble." As the claws of the tigress tore her arm and shoulder, she cried out in fear, "O Jesus, help me!" The tiger had already tore her arm and shoulder by this time. Then the attacking tiger turned and ran away. Did an angel block and guard the illiterate Chinese mother and her children?
Instead of getting an easy meal, the tiger changed his mind. Such is the power of Jesus Name! Who sends angels on our behalf. Psalm 91:11, "He will give his angels charge of you, to guard you in all your ways."
John Calvin writes, "The angels are the dispensers and administrators of the divine beneficence toward us; they regard our safety, undertake our defense, direct our ways, and exercise a constant solicitude that no evil befall us," Institutes of the Christian Religion, I. God is good. He protects us, loves us, and shows His everlasting grace and mercy in so many ways.
